Celebrate our nation's Independence Day this July 4 from  5:00pm to 10:00pm at Don Tyler Park.  There will be live music, free watermelon, food buy a local vendor, popcorn, The Dewey Duck Derby, and FIREWORKS!

Appearing on COMMUNITY CONNECTION, Lorrie Tabler with the City of Dewey invited everyone to bring your lawn chairs and plan to spend the evening enjoying the music, food and fun.  Music starts at 6pm, The Dewey Duck Derby is at 8:45pm, and fireworks will start around 9:30pm.

What is The Dewey Duck Derby?  Lorrie explained In brief, "It is a Fantastic Flotilla of Fake Fowl.  It's a rubber duck race down the "Delaware River" that runs through Don Tyler Park.  Numbered ducks are sent through an obstacle course down the "Delaware River" trying to get to the finish line first.  The first 4 ducks to cross the finish line net their lucky number owners cash prizes!  Duck numbers are sold at City Hall and The Vintage Loft Junk Boutique starting in June.  All money raised goes back into the fund for the next year's 4th of July celebration."

Lorrie also reminded everyone to checkout the Dewey Public Library Summer Reading Programs, The Dewey Swap Meet June 15th and November 2nd, and don't forget the fun, the food and the shopping on Dewey's 2nd Saturday event every month.
