A Bartlesville man was seen in Washington County Court Monday on the charge of assault and battery after two or more felony convictions after an arrest Sunday night. Daniel Thurman is alleged in this case of hitting the victim multiple times and choking her.

According to an affidavit, the victim’s face was “covered in blood” and she was holding a baby when officers arrived, and Thurman was breathing heavily and drenched in sweat. Thurman told officers that he had slapped the victim only once and that was it.

The victim told officers that she was pulling weeds at their home when Thurman came outside angry and yelling. Thurman allegedly broke the victim’s phone then tried to leave the residence in their car. The victim asked Thurman not to take the car because the baby had to be dropped off at daycare the next morning.

Thurman then allegedly started to hit the victim multiple times before eventually choking her. Thurman has previous charges involving domestic abuse and has been convicted previously. With those factors, he was given a $50,000 bond and is ordered to have no contact with the victim.
