On this week's CITY MATTERS program on KWON, City Manager Mike Bailey, Airport Director Mike Richardson, City Clerk Jason Muninger and City Public Works Director Keith Henry brought us all up to date on matters of the city.
 
City Clerk Jason Muninger announced the latest city sales tax collection was down 0.1% from this month last year. He also said that our sales tax collections for the physcal year was down .1%.
 
Airport Director Mike Richardson gave us and update on the new taxiway being built that will increase business oppourtunities there. Construction should begin in a couple of months.
 
City Public Works Director Henry said the cleanup from the May 6th tornado actually began that night after the storm passed to clear of the roadways for emergency crew. Henry said the worked continued with vegetative and non-vegetative pickups for the past few weeks and that the vegetative debris dropoff at the rodeo facility west of town will end Friday afternoon.
