After last week's regularly scheduled Osage County Commissioners meeting, Board members made the decision to call an emergency meeting to approve the payroll that was submitted to the county clerk's office for the month of May. They were forced to call the emergency meeting because some key wording was left off one of the agenda items.

The Board called the emergency meeting out of fear that county employees wouldn't receive their paychecks. This week, County Clerk Robin Slack wanted to clear the air that there never was an emergency.

After Slack made that comment, District Two County Commissioner Steve Talburt asked her why the agenda item didn't include the wording, “payroll for payment.” Slack responded by saying she had spoken with the auditor and said it doesn't have to be included.
