We are knocking on the door to the month of June, which means offseason time for all high school athletics across Northeast Oklahoma and Southeast Kansas.

Bartlesville High head boys’ basketball coach Tommy DeSalme marked June as an important month in preparation for Bruin hoops this winter.

DeSalme has been on the job for just over a month. He said he spent most of the last part of the school year observing what he had in the program and meeting with parents and families of Bartlesville basketball players.

DeSalme says this upcoming month will be critical to install some of the things he wants Bruin basketball to be about moving forward.

Defense will likely be a major emphasis moving forward at BHS. DeSalme made clear that he believes Bartlesville can play defense the way he wants regardless of the personnel who is out for the team.

DeSalme shares a bit about how he wants Bartlesville to play this upcoming season.

KWON had a longer-form interview with DeSalme a bit more than a month ago on his first couple weeks on the job and the upcoming offseason...
