Civitan Park Shade Structure Reinstalled

The Civitan Park shade is back.
Crews reinstalled the top part of the frame and awning at Civitan Park on Tuesday.
City of Bartlesville Director of Engineering Micah Siemers says recent rains and muddy ground delayed the project because crews didn't want the crane to get stuck. Siemers says there was an opening in the rainy weather and crews were able to get the shade structure reinstalled.
Civitan Park, located near the intersection of Nowata Road and Silver Lake Road and known as "The Dinosaur Park" locally, was temporarily closed in May 2023 after high winds damaged the shade structure cover over the playground.
The park later opened when the structure was removed, but portions of the park were cordoned off.
The park and playground are now fully open.
