The Nowata County Commissioners met this Tuesday morning due to the Memorial Day holiday yesterday, and started with announcing the hiring of multiple deputies. Chairman Timmie Benson announced the hirings.

Nowata County Sheriff Jason McClain made an appearance to ask the commissioners for a budget increase so he can give his deputies, jailors and dispatchers a raise.

The Nowata County Commissioners will meet again next Monday at 9 am at the Nowata County Courthouse Annex and the meeting is open to the public.
