Copan, 2 Rural Water Districts Under Water Boil Order

The Town of Copan and two other rural water districts are now under a mandatory boil order.

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality made the order on Thursday for all customers of Copan PWA, including Osage County Rural Water District #20 and Washington County Rural Water District #7 to boil water for at least one minute before consuming or using it.

This order was issued due to high turbidity in the drinking water.

Users will be notified when the water is considered safe for human consumption. Federal law requires that consumers be notified when a public water supply exceeds certain maximum contaminant levels and might be harmful to the health of consumers.
