Spring football is kicking up in the area as Oklahoma schools are officially starting spring practices. Nowata is included in that as the Ironmen are coming off their best since 2019 this past season when they finished at 4-6.

For the Ironmen, they have a lot of returning starters from last year’s team – including their quarterback, Trevor Emberson. Head Coach Chance Juby talks about his senior signal caller coming into his final season.

Along with Emberson, the Ironmen return offensive and defensive line star Jerome Jackson who is expected to be a leader his senior year. Juby also named Keyshawn Verner, Maliki Ornder, Jose Wilson, Adrian O’dell, Tyson Lecroy and more as guys to watch for this spring.

Each coach set’s goals of things they want to get out of spring ball, and most common is the goal of an injury free-spring and preparation for summer workouts. Coach Juby details some other things he wants to see his players get out of the spring period.

We will have more on Nowata and local schools as they go through spring football practices and camps.
