OKWU Men Start KCAC Tournament Thursday
Bracket is officially available for the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament, which kicks off on Thursday.
Oklahoma Wesleyan will be eyeing a bounce-back after suffering its first loss in 18 games on Saturday.
Evangel College topped OKWU 80-74 in Springfield, Missouri. The loss sends the Eagles to postseason with a 26-2 record. Wesleyan finished the season at 20-2 in KCAC play. OKWU still won the conference by two full games.
Again, free throws were an issue for Oklahoma Wesleyan in the loss on Saturday. Eagles went 9-20 from the charity stripe in the loss.
A first round matchup with Bethel awaits OKWU on Thursday night at 7:00. We will carry the game on KWON - AM 1400, FM 93.3 and 95.1 and Sports Talk 99.1 FM - KPGM.
Wesleyan beat the Threshers 78-66 in North Newton, Kansas on Jan. 13.
If OKWU can win on Thursday, it could set up a possible rematch with Evangel on Saturday night in Bartlesville. The Valor take on a hot Saint Mary team in their first-round game on Thursday, as well.
