The Dewey Bulldoggers made the Saturday trip to Oklahoma Union to do battle with the Cougars for the final Northeast Valley Conference game this season, and it would be all Bulldoggers. The guys and girls would both grab wins to sweep the Cougars on Saturday, and for the season series.

We’ll go to the guys game first where it ended up being more dramatic than initially thought. Dewey would win a close one, 50-43. The Bulldoggers really took ahold of this one with a 7-0 run to end the third quarter to go up 38-30 heading into the 4th.

It looked like Dewey was going to run away with this one, as they started the fourth quarter on a 6-1 run to go up 44-31 in the fourth before the Cougars came firing back. Deakyn Hendrix hit two big three-pointers for the Cougars, including this one to get knock the deficit down to five.

Cougars responded on a 11-2 run to make it a 46-41 game in the fourth, but Zaiden Masters got this tough lay-up to seal the game for Dewey.

Dewey guys improve to 13-9 and finish undefeated in the Northeast Valley Conference. Here is Bulldogger Head Coach Lance Knight on the win, and his thoughts on winning the conference.

On the girls side, they opened the afternoon up with a huge win, 47-25 to sweep the girls on the season. Both teams will be back at Caney, KS on Tuesday.
