OKWU Men Handle Evangel, Girls Lose

The Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball team handled Evangel University with ease on Wednesday evening, getting an 85-56 win. The Eagles led by 17 at halftime before going on to get the victory. 

Oklahoma Wesleyan opened up with a 24-2 lead in the first half and this sequence here was a part of the early onslaught. 

DJ Talton Jr, Jaden Lietzke, Kaleb Stokes and Amari Stokes all finished in double figures. OKWU improves to 14-1 on the year. 

On the girl's side, it was Evangel geting a 65-53 victory. The Lady Valors led by aix at halftime and that lead was extended to 12 going into the final frame. The Lady Eagles stayed within striking distance in the final frame, but never got within six. Zariah Tillman and Haley Meely each scored in double figures. 

Oklahoma Wesleyan travels to Bethel for a game on Saturday. That is a game you can hear on Sportstalk KPGM FM 99.1 beginning at 3 p.m.
