Huskies Get the Best of Hominy for Battle of Osage Sweep
Tuesday night was a clean sweep for the Pawhuska Huskies, as both the boys and girls got wins over Hominy.
Neither game was an easy one, though. The Ladies got a 33-32 win over Hominy and it took everything Pawhuska had to come away with the one-point win. Pawhuska trailed 32-30 with less than a minute remaining when Coach David Cash drew up this play out of a timeout.
Following a Hominy miss on the opposite end, Pawhuska dribbled out the remaining 22 seconds, as the Lady Bucks never committed a foul. In her first game back since the winter break, Hannah Reynolds scored or assisted on the first 11 points of the game.
On the guy's side, Pawhuska came away with a 54-43 win. The Huskies led for all of the first quarter and a better part of the second half, thanks in large part to Noah Wilson's game-high 17 points. It was this shot from Elvernon White that gave Pawhuska a double-digit lead late in the third quarter.
Pawhuska will now host Newkirk for homecoming on Friday. Coverage can be heard on Sportstalk KPGM FM 99.1 and KPGMTV.com.
