Best of 2023: Craig Bursts onto National Scene

With only a few days left in 2023, we continue our best of 2023 series in local sports.
We have four of the other best in in local sports from the past calendar year already available at BartlesvilleRadio.com from the past week.
On Wednesday, we get into the pool, with one of the best individual athletes at Bartlesville High over the past year, Bartlesville High swimmer Griffin Craig.
Craig is currently a senior at BHS, but he started to make major waves in 2023, literally and figuratively.
Craig signed with Missouri to continue his swim career earlier in the fall. This was after he took home an individual state championship in the spring, as well.
Craig chose MIZZOU over other offers later in the year.
Craig would go on to win the 100-meter backstroke during the 2023 6A State Championships in late-February. He and Cody Lay would be the two individuals who won state titles for BHS.
The Lady Bruins came within an eyelash of winning a team state title. The Bartlesville girls finished second behind Jenks by half a point.
Heading into 2024, Englehart says Craig is as important as ever to Bartlesville Swim.
More on the best of local sports in 2023 over the next few days as we begin a new year over the weekend.
