The Dewey Bulldoggers hosted the Caney Valley Bullpups of Kansas Friday night in what was a basketball homecoming matchup. With the homecoming festivities, it led to the guys tipping things off first for the evening.

The Dewey guys would build an early lead to secure a wire-to-wire win over the Bullpups, 56-47. Dewey would lead by six after the first frame at 10-4 and then extend their lead at the half to 12 as they lead it 28-16 after two.

The third quarter though is when Caney would make their run. The Bullpups went on a 15-6 run to start the third quarter to make it a three point game at 34-31 off this easy bucket.

Dewey though would follow with a 9-2 run to end the quarter, including these back-to-back three pointers from Ryder Muninger and Austin Eastman to make it a 43-31.

Dewey would hold on for the nine-point win to advance to 3-2. Bulldoggers still travel to Chelsea for a final first semester matchup before the Christmas break. The Dewey girls game followed and they got a win as well, beating Caney 43-38. The girls improve to 1-4.
