The Nowata Ironmen are prepping for their senior night Friday night as they get ready to host the Salina Wildcats to end their home campaign for 2023. For Nowata, what looked like a promising season after starting out 3-1 has hit a snag as of late as they’ve lost four straight games. Last Friday they suffered their first shutout of the season as they fell at Rejoice Christian, 49-0.

That score makes things look worse than what it actually was considering it was a one score ball game in the second quarter at 7-0 before things slowly fell apart towards the end of the first half.

Looking ahead now though, the Ironmen have a chance to end their home game record at a 2-2 clip. To do that, they have to beat a Salina club that is coming off their biggest win of the season last Friday as they beat Caney Valley Ramona, 60-6. Head Coach Chance Juby talked about his thoughts on the matchup with the Wildcats.

As previously mentioned, it is senior night for Nowata which means this will be the last home game for eight different players on the Ironmen sideline. Coach Juby shared his thoughts on this season’s senior class.

Ironmen and Wildcats kick-off at 7 pm from Nowata with a 6:30 pregame starting on KRIG 104.9 FM with video coverage available on KRIGTV.com.
