A Kaw City man is dead following a two-car collision Tuesday afternoon just outside of Ponca City in Kay County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 2 p.m.  at the intersection of Coleman Road and Enterprise Road, two miles east of Ponca City. Troopers say 63-year-old Kurtis Jenkins, of Kaw City, was driving a 2007 Ford Ranger when it collided with a 2016 GMC Sierra driven by 31-year-old Curtis Horne, of Ponca City. Jenkins was pronounced deceased at the scene by Ponca City EMS. Horne was transported to a Ponca City hospital, where he was treated and released with head injuries.

OHP is continuing to investigate the crash. The Kay County Sheriff’s Office, Ponca City Fire/EMS and the Medical Examiner’s Office assisted in the response.
