Greens at Adams Golf Course Getting Re-built
As part of the 2020 General Obligation Bond project, the greens at Adams Golf Course are about to get a makeover. Designs are expected to begin soon after a contract was signed on Monday with Heckenkemper Golf Course Design.
The newest greens at the course were built in 2000 with the original being built in the early 1960s. Director of Engineering for the City of Bartlesville, Micah Siemers said the average life of a green is about 20 years, hence the need for the $700,000 project.
"It is estimated that the majority of the greens have lost 25 to 35 percent of the playing surface due to the encroachment of the fringe."
Siemers added that designs need to begin this month so that construction can begin in the spring.
