Washington Co. Commissioners Take Action on 3 Lawsuits

The Washington County Commissioners had a longer than normal meeting Monday morning, where they spend nearly an hour in executive session speaking with their attorney about three pending lawsuits.
One of the lawsuits dates back to 2020, where a former employee of the sheriff’s office claims he was wrongfully terminated. Two other cases are being handled in federal court.
The commissioners took no action on the three lawsuits, other to name a representative for the commission. Commissioner Mitch Antle made the motion.
The commissioners also approved a change in the county’s anti-virus software that will provide additional coverage against ransomware attacks. Additionally, the commissioners approved the donation of a 2002 Chevrolet truck from the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture to the Washington County Volunteer Fire Department.
The commissioners will meet again next Monday at 9:30 a.m.
