The Nowata County Commissioners met for their final September commissioner meeting Monday morning, and it was more of the same housecleaning items. Nowata Courthouse Secretary Rachel Marrs shared her update on the new piping for the courthouse, followed by a commissioner update on the flooring. 

The commissioners later accepted a donation in the form of $127 for pizza and pop that was provided to the Sheriff’s office. Commissioner Troy Friddle also announced the hiring of new full-time deputy Jacob Monroe.

Finally, there was a presentation by Alecia Shannon with Resound Networks about the new Broadband Internet coming to Nowata County. 

The commissioners will meet again next Monday at 9 am at the Nowata County Courthouse Annex, and the meeting is open to the public.
