During Tuesday evening's city council meeting in Pawhuska, Chamber of Commerce Director Mike McCartney said things are looking up with businesses opening up and several upcoming events that are sure to attract people to the city. He added that the sales tax was also up for the month once again.

McCartney said that the tourism tax is also on the rise from a year ago and a large reason for that is because they began working to make improvements to the downtown area several years ago, something most towns are just now beginning to do.

McCartney also recently attended the Select Oklahoma Economic Development Conference in Oklahoma City and Pawhuska was featured and talked about often.
