OCSO, DA Have Different Takes on Cynthia Dawn Kinney Case
It has been 47 years since Cynthia Dawn Kinney was last seen entering a Pawhuska laundromat. Osage County Sheriff Eddie Virden and District Attorney Mike Fisher have two different ideas as to what may have happened to Kinney. Virden has named Dennis Rader, otherwise known as BTK, as the “prime suspect.” Fisher doesn't believe Rader is a suspect, as there is no evidence pointing to him being in Pawhuska on that fateful day.
On Monday, Fisher held a press conference informing the public that the case was being turned over to the OSBI. Virden says the sheriff's office has been cooperating with the OSBI from day one.
Fisher says that for Virden to say that is a bit of a reach.
Fisher says with the OSBI coming on board, they will conduct an investigation that should finally get to the bottom of what has been a long mess for all involved.
At Monday's press conference, Fisher added that he had a suspect in the Kinney case that they were looking into. The Osage County Sheriff's Office released a statement Monday afternoon saying they would have a press conference on Tuesday and would “look forward to providing updates into our investigation during this press conference.
