Bartlesville Man Charged With Assault in Sunday Stabbing

A Bartlesville man is now facing a felony charge from a stabbing that occurred Sunday, Sept. 3.
 
Robert Keith McGlothen, 33, was formally charged Friday with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon during his third court appearance in front of District Judge Linda Thomas in Washington County Court. McGlothen is accused of stabbing a victim during a Sunday altercation in  the 1600 block of SW Elm Avenue.
According to an affidavit, an officer interviewed three separate witnesses that were in the area when the incident occurred.
 
Every witness stated that McGlothen stabbed the victim, and one told police that the victim was stabbed on the left side of his body. They also told police that McGlothen dropped the weapon in a trashcan south of the residence. 
 
The victim of the stabbing was life-flighted to a Tulsa hospital where they are still being treated for the stabbing injuries.
 
McGlothen is being held in the Washington County Jail on a $100,000 bond. According to court records, McGlothen has an extensive criminal history in Oklahoma, including domestic abuse charges in Wagoner County, illegal possession of firearms in Cleveland County, and drug possession and burglary convictions in Tulsa County.
 
His next court date in Washington County will be at 9 a.m. on Sept. 22.
