The Osage County Sheriff's Office conducted a search of the property of where Dennis Rader, otherwise known as the BTK Killer used to live in Park City, Kansas on Tuesday. The search revealed that investigators believe Rader is the prime suspect in an Osage County cold case regarding Cynthia Dawn Kinney from 1976 and the death of 22-year old Shawna Beth Garber from 1990, a crime committed in Missouri.

Osage County Undersheriff Gary Upton said Rader's journal entries indicated that he was out of the Wichita area when Kinney went missing and he explains in further detail why he thinks Rader was involved in the Kinney case, who disappeared from the Pawhuska laundromat.

Upton said there are other unsolved crimes in the Kansas and Missouri area that he believes could be traced back to Rader, who has already confessed to ten murders. Upton explains why Rader is hesitant to confess to any other crimes that he may have committed.

Upton says he is hopeful that they are able to find the missing clue that solves this case so that the Kinney family will finally have closure.

On Tuesday, investigators found “items of interest,” but Upton said they did not find bones, or bodily remains. This is an ongoing investigation.
