Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect for Monday
Nathan Thompson
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 5 p.m. Monday across northeast Oklahoma and southeast Kansas.
According to the National Weather Service, widely scattered showers and thunderstorms that develop north of the area could move into portions of the morning this afternoon. A few of these storms could be marginally severe with quarter size hail and damaging winds.
A slight chance of storms will again be possible late tonight across far northeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.
The weather service says behind any storms, hot and humid conditions will likely develop with heat index values around 105 degrees likely across portions of eastern Oklahoma.
