Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy took the podium on Wednesday afternoon during day one of the Big 12 Media Days in Arlington. The 19th-year Cowboy skipper talked about every topic involving the Pokes upcoming 2023 season.

The big headline statewide was Gundy’s comments on the final Bedlam football game for the foreseeable future. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State have played football every year since 1906, which is set to end after the Sooner’s departure for the SEC following this fall.

Gundy says that decision doesn’t have anything to do with Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State has non-conference games scheduled through 2037 with series against Alabama, Arkansas, Oregon and Nebraska in that span. OK-State has an opponent from the SEC, Big 10 or PAC-12 already scheduled in 12 of the next 15 seasons.

Meanwhile when to comes to play on the field, the Cowboys will likely feature a new quarterback this fall. Former Texas Tech and Michigan QB Alan Bowman is the probable starter for the Pokes, with youth behind him.

Gundy details Bowman’s background and previews his fall.

Oklahoma State will host Central Arkansas for its first game on Sept. 2 from Boone Pickens’ Stadium in Stillwater.
