A Bartlesville woman was seen in court on Monday afternoon on the charges of trafficking a controlled dangerous substance and carrying drugs into jail. Ashley Thomas was pulled over by police for speeding on HWY 123 and also having an expired tag and officers discovered she also had a felony warrant for her arrest.

According to an affidavit, Thomas admitted to having “about a gram of fentanyl” in her wallet before police began the search of her vehicle. Officers and a K9 unit would find two small white baggies of a powdery white substance. After being transported to the jail, staff located 8 more clear plastic baggies of fentanyl weighing about one gram a piece that Thomas had hidden on her person.

Thomas was found with 9 grams of fentanyl and was given a cumulative bond of $200,000 which also includes her previous felony warrant. Her court date was set for Monday, July 17.
