The OKWU baseball squad has had a bit of a rough go of it in the month of April, sitting at 5-6 in the month. The Eagles are sitting at 31-13 on the year but are 17-10 in conference with over half of their losses coming this month. The Eagles though came away with a huge 7-3 win over first place McPherson in the KCAC on Friday afternoon at home

Matthew Atencio got the start on the bump and pitched a masterclass. The senior went the full nine innings, surrendering three earned runs and only allowing one walk. Atencio also had four strikeouts. A’Darius Council led the way offensively, as he went 4-4 with a homerun and 3 rbi’s.

Eagles will go for the series win or the sweep on Saturday as they have a double header at home. Here is Eagle skipper Kirk Kelley’s thoughts on the current series against the Bulldogs.

First pitch of game one will be at 12 pm with game two to follow at 3 pm. Evan Foor will start game one on the bump and Michael Mendoza will get the start for game two.
