The Chairman of the Washington County Republican Party, Mike Lessard, died suddenly Sunday of unknown causes.

Alexander Johnson, Vice Chair WCGOP (Acting- Chair) wrote:

 “It is with a heavy heart this morning to inform you of the passing of County Chairman Mike Lessard. Mike was an asset to both the WCGOP and the community at large. Mike was loved by many and worked hard to include others and inspire others to get involved. He will truly be missed and your prayers are both appreciated and encouraged.

Arraignments have not been made at this time but as soon as that information is available, that information will be shared in accordance with the family’s wishes. I know others are organizing efforts to provide meals and additional support to the family during their time of grieving. Once I hear more, I will share this information.”
