Oklahoma Wesleyan basketball made the trip to Kansas City Wednesday night to take on conference foe Avila Eagles.

The men were up by five points at half but were able to pull away winning 58-39. It was a struggle for both teams shooting the rock for a combined 11-55. OKWU was able to pull away winning points off turnovers 23-5. Brandon Bird led the team in scoring with 14 points. Jaden Lietzke would notch another double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Daniel Oluwasuyi had this one-one down the stretch to get the Wesleyan lead into the comfort zone.

The Eagles improve to 11-1 this season and stay as the only team in the KCAC to be undefeated in conference play.

The Lady Eagles were in a tight game for 36 minutes of the contest but fell short 71-60. The game was virtually tied throughout the entire contest with teams swapping one possession leads. OKWU was able to go on a run going up 47-40 until a technical would swing the game the other way. Trailing by one, the Lady Eagles would get a second technical which took all of the air out of their sail and could never recover.

The Lady Eagles fall to 3-9 this season. OKWU is back in action and at home Dec. 13 against Ottawa.
