Mobile Health Unit to Serve Northeast Oklahoma Counties

Throughout the past year the gaps in healthcare and barriers to medical access in our communities have become more apparent to Health Care Officials. In an effort to eliminate barriers, such as transportation, location, time, and access, the county health departments of District 4 are pleased to provide Mobile Health On the Go. The units, consisting of two vans and one self-contained clinic trailer, will deploy starting this September. The unit will serve Craig, Delaware, Mayes, Nowata, Ottawa, Rogers, Wagoner, and Washington counties.
The clinic trailer will be able to offer services such as:
- Well women’s exams
- COVID-19 Vaccinations
- Immunizations
- General Sick visits
- Wellness visits- including blood pressure screening
- School/sports Physicals
- Other public health programming
To date, the mobile health units have been utilized in efforts geared toward COVID-19 vaccines and sports physicals across the district. This allowed the Washington County Health Department and others to partner with schools and other community organizations in offering these services to additional portions of our Oklahoma communities.
The mobile health unit will be available in one of the eight counties weekly. They are actively seeking partnerships with organizations in the counties willing to host one of the mobile units. These units provide health services in a variety of settings ranging from community events to small neighborhoods gatherings.
Our District 4 team is eager to assist individuals in need of health resources, for the community and hope all will take advantage of mobile health on the go. To inquire about partnering with the mobile health unit, contact Cody Villanueva, Health Equity Specialist at 405.549.0462.
