Dewey Football Progressing Through Summer Session

The Dewey Bulldoggers have put together a rather productive summer so far. Last month, the Doggers hosted four different passing league dates with several area schools.
Dewey has two quarterbacks in Trent Muninger and Tate Lewis that have benefitted from the extra work. Doggers head coach Trent Turner says this 7-on-7 period has helped a deep group of wide receivers more than anyone.
The offense has always been a strong unit under Turner. In three seasons as the lead playcaller (the last two as head coach), Dewey has averaged 30.5 points per game.
However, defense has been a different story. In district play alone the Doggers allowed 40+ points five separate times last year. Turner says they are working on changing that ahead of this season.
Dewey’s switch to a new 3-3-5 defense is expected to create an extra wrinkle for opponents this season. The Doggers have added one extra passing league date this upcoming Monday at 11:30. Dewey opens up with Miami on August 27.
