OKWU Baseball Excited for Return to NAIA World Series

The countdown to the start of the NAIA World Series is getting closer as Oklahoma Wesleyan has safely arrived in Lewiston, Idaho. The Eagles open up with independent powerhouse Georgia Gwinnett College on Friday morning.
OKWU is appearing in first NAIA World Series since 2017 and the first since head coach Kirk Kelley returned prior to the 2019 season. Kelley says getting to the World Series has brought the team great joy.
The Eagles are seeking the first World Series championship in school history. Kelley says any squad in the 10-team field is capable of taking home the trophy. The biggest struggle for OKWU will be finding the right pitching matchups. Kelley says a starter for Friday has yet to be announced.
The Eagles play GGC on Friday at 11:30 a.m. from Harris Field in Lewiston, Idaho.
