As we reported earlier this week, Copan boys’ basketball hired their old coach back.

Former coach Kevin Foreman is back to lead the Hornets in 2021-22 after taking this past season off. Jerry Wertz, who led Copan this past season, is moving on to be the principal at the high school.

Foreman had been with the Hornets for seven years before stepping aside prior to the 2020-21 season.

Foreman says he missed coaching.

Foreman joins his son, Marshall Foreman, as one of the Hornets varsity head coaches. Marshall will be in his second season leading the Copan football program this fall. Kevin’s daughter, Kendall Huntington, is also the girl’s coach at Wesleyan Christian School.

Foreman says when ultimately making the decision to come back, he is a Copan guy and wants what is best for the school.

Foreman says he would like Copan to get into team activities at the end of next month, with the Hornets going to a few team camps to get ready for the season.
