Colorful tote bags, innovative cross body purses and darling children’s handbags are coming through the doors of Martha’s Task this spring ready for the biggest fundraiser auction ever with the virtual version of Purse-n-ali-tea 2021.

Martha’s Task annually holds an April tea and purse auction to raise funds for the Bartlesville nonprofit’s programs aiding low income women. This year the popular event is going virtual with the purse portion being open to all who want to bid on the amazing one-of-a-kind bags, which were donated by talented seamstresses to the fundraiser. Those who want to purchase tickets for the tea and hold their own parties at home will receive goody bags filled with delightful desserts, party favors and quality tea ready to be brewed.

“We are so excited to have the purse auction open to all this year through the wonders of the internet, which allows anyone to participate in the event,” Martha’s Task Executive Director Laura Walton said. “We have some truly beautiful and unique purses created by seamstresses from Bartlesville to Alaska. This is a fabulous opportunity to support Martha’s Task and buy a handcrafted treasure to wear.”

Tickets for Purse-n-ali-tea 2021 are $25 each and are available by visiting Martha’s Task at 718 South Johnstone, calling the organization’s office at 918.336.8275 or online at Eventbrite.com.

Bidding on purses and other auction items is available with or without a ticket by visiting 32auctions.com/MarthasTaskPursenalitea21. Final bids on items must be placed by 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24th. Phillips 66 is the prime sponsor for Purse-n-ali-tea 2021.

Established in 2000 in Bartlesville, Martha’s Task offers economically disadvantaged women in the Bartlesville area unique work training opportunities providing sewing instruction, crafting programs, product marketing, financial support and advocacy. Martha’s Task also offers a long-term seamstress training program through which clients get paid to learn to sew and receive profits from items sold in the on-site store. The organization also has a short-term emergency assistance program through which clients earn immediate cash for a need such as a utility bill, prescription or housing.
