Prices Still Affect Local Employment

ConocoPhillips will see the loss of about 90 employees in Bartlesville. According to a company spokesman in Bartlesville, as initially reported in July, ConocoPhillips has conducted targeted workforce reductions in certain areas of its business to align organizational capacity with future activity levels.
ConocoPhillips has reduced its global workforce by approximately 6 percent -- or about 1,000 employees. The largest impact of those reductions is in North America. According to the spokesman, there are no new reductions to report, employees will be leaving the organization over the coming weeks as necessitated by each individual staff or business unit need.
ConocoPhillips employs about 1,400 people locally.
