A probable cause hearing took place Tuesday afternoon for 28-year old Kevin Wayne Brown of Bartlesville, who was arrested for lewd or indecent proposal to a child under 16 and attempt abduction of a person under 15.

According to a court affidavit, a mother told Bartlesville police that she discovered that her 10-year old daughter was communicating with the suspect on a phone chatting application.  Reportedly, the victim's mother learned that the suspect liked a picture of the child in shorts and talked about meeting her to a local market to buy Girl Scout cookies.  Upon further investigation, the officer downloaded the same app and would meet the suspect at Walgreens.  During the conversation, Brown said he would be driving a silver car.  When officers arrived at Walgreens, they found the silver car, saw the suspect, and took him into custody.  Brown confessed to being involved with the girl, admitted to have other conversations with young girls on the app, and received obscene images on his phone and computer.

Brown's next court date is Wednesday afternoon when charges are expected to be filed.  Bond was set at $50,000.
