OKWU basketball continues non-conference slate
Oklahoma Wesleyan University basketball had non-conference games over the weekend, and let's get right into it as the #5 OKWU men's team suffered their first loss of the season, an 87-81 loss to Oklahoma City University in the Oklahoma City Classic on Friday night.
OKWU bounced back in big way on Saturday, with a 2nd half comeback victory over Southwestern 67-63. Jaden Wilson and Yashi McKenzie each had 16 points to pace the Eagles in the win to improve OKWU to 3-1 overall. Next up is a road trip tomorrow to Forth Worth to take on 2-0 Texas Wesleyan University at 7:30.
On the women's side, OKWU hosted Dakota Wesleyan in their first official game as they fell 74-60 on Friday. Former Jenks Trojan Haley Meely had a huge night for the Lady Eagles, scoring a game high 22-points and going 5-11 from 3-point range.
Next up OKWU travels to Forth Worth for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday against Texas Wesleyan on Friday and University of North Texas at Dallas on Saturday.
