Bartlesville High football hopes the beginning of District action starts an uptick in play, starting with a game at Sand Springs on Friday night.

BHS is 0-3 against three 5A teams thus far. It is the second straight year Bartlesville has started at 0-3. A season ago this was when the Bruins started to turn things around.

With better weather and the start of a second season of sorts, head coach Harry Wright says spirits have been good around the program this week.

Sand Springs is 1-2, but the Sandite’s two losses may be against the best teams in the state, in Owasso and Bixby. Sand Springs handled its 5A opponent Bishop Kelley with ease last week for its first win.

Wright says two keys on Friday will be defending against a future NCAA DI baseball star in Sand Springs quarterback Easton Webb and Bartlesville needs to run the ball better on offense.

Wright talks about the Bruin run game as we get into game No. 4.
