New Look WCS Football Coming 2024

There is a changing of the guard in Wesleyan Christian School football, as we start to feature spring high school football throughout Northeast Oklahoma.

Former WCS head coach Curt Cloud resigned his post this spring. In the fall Cloud had said he was unsure if he would return to lead the football program. His son, Tyrel, is planning on playing college basketball.

Blaine Landers now takes over as head coach for Wesleyan Christian. Landers had been with WCS for the past two years as the Mustang’s defensive coordinator. Although the move was not official until recently, Landers says he was internally preparing to take over the program.

Landers says he feels like he has his feet underneath him heading into the spring.

It is a changing of the guard in more ways than one, as Wesleyan Christian will graduate six seniors, three of which spurred the program to three straight playoff appearances.

Spring football will stay more internal for WCS this spring. Landers says he wants the Mustang’s to get introduced into the new era of the program.

Landers says that despite the departure of the six seniors, Wesleyan Christian expects higher numbers of guys out for the team this fall, with nine additions.

More on WCS spring football and others coming up later this spring.
