Wesleyan Christian Plays For Hamm

The Wesleyan Christian football team has been through the wringer in September, but they banded together for an emotional win on Friday.

Earlier this month, the Mustangs had one their co-captains, Ben Hamm, pass away because of an injury during their game against Woodland on Sept. 11. On Friday night, WCS honored Hamm before the Mustangs' 54-8 win against Welch. Head coach Nathan England talks about the win, and the evening as a whole. England says the support from other football teams in the state has helped his team, and the school.

The school had a balloon release and a metal cut-out of Hamm's Jersey put on the field prior to the win.

England says that Ben's dad came to speak to the Mustangs last week before the Welch victory. He says that thinks that helped with the healing process. England also mentioned that the football team is closer than ever before.

WCS next plays Oaks on Oct. 2.
