Wesleyan Christian Hoops Works on Offense

Wesleyan Christian School boy's basketball is still in the midst of a several week off period for winter break, and the Mustangs are using the opportunity to work on offense.

So far so good for WCS in its third season under Kameron Nettleton. Wesleyan Christian is off to a 5-3 start. All three losses for the Mustangs have come to teams in classes higher than their own Class B.

WCS has scored 42-points or less in all three losses, as well – but the defense has been the saving grace. Only two teams have scored more than 50-points against the Mustangs. Nettleton says his team’s defense continues to give him hope for the rest of the season.

Nettleton says he wants some of his younger players to work on consistency when they have the basketball. Nettleton says that all of his guys have the ability to go off on any single night but they have yet to put together a full game at once.

Wesleyan Christian will continue to be off for another week, when the Mustang’s will host their own tournament beginnng on Thursday, Jan. 9.

It will be a mix of smaller schools, Christian schools and some area JV teams on hand for the event. WCS opens things up against Wynona.
