WCS Football Will Rely on Seniors

Wesleyan Christian football is still eyeing its first season alone in the OSSAA in quite some time.

The firsts continue to come for the Mustang football program, last year was the team’s first back in the OSSAA when they co-oped with Copan. This season will turn another page, as the program will try to be self-sustainable. WCS head coach Curt Cloud talks about the summer months for his team.

The Mustangs team camp was originally scheduled to be at the Wesleyan football field off Silver Lake, but flood waters moved the location to Dewey. Cloud said that numbers of players continue to support the program’s move to play alone in 2019. He said just under 15 guys will likely be out for the team this fall. Despite being a bit thin, Cloud says he expects upperclassmen to lead his team this fall.

Wesleyan Christian School will open up the season on Zero Week with a game at home against Wellston on Friday, Aug. 30.
