Verdigris Sweeps Dewey

The Dewey Bulldoggers and Lady Doggers ended their home portion of the season with a couple of losses against Verdigris.  Lady Doggers lost 55-25 while the Doggers fell 74-48. 

In the girls game, it was all Lady Cardinals as they pounded the Lady Doggers on the glass and took advantage of Dewey's turnovers.  Verdigris outscored Dewey 22-8 in the second half.  Haley Gurule led Dewey with seven points while Karissa Jones added six.  Lady Doggers fall to 3-18 on the year.

In the boys game, Dewey got off to a good start and led 9-2 early in the first period, but the third ranked Cardinals found a way to come back and took an 18-10 after the first period.  In the second period, Verdigris went on a 7-0 run in the first 40 seconds of the period and never looked back.  Trenton Anderson led Dewey with 17 points while Spencer Hayes added 14 points.  Dewey has dropped nine of the last 10 games and is now 8-13 on the year.

Next up for the Doggers and Lady Doggers is at Caney, Kansas on Tuesday, February 17th.  Girls will play at six while the boys will play at 7:30.
