Track Meet Canceled for Weather/Walkout
Walkout and weather has caused another spring sport cancellation at Bartlesville High on Friday.
Amid the teacher walkout, the OSSAA stated earlier this week that varsity high school events should go on as scheduled, with schools that don’t play being subjected to forfeits depending on the situation.
Bartlesville High, along with many other schools across the state have gotten together and canceled one event this weekend. BHS was scheduled to be in a track meet on Friday in Jenks. All the schools agreed to cancel that event, and the weather had a say in it as well Bartlesville head track and field coach Bon Bennett explains the situation.
Bartlesville track and field will be off until April 13th now, when the Lady Bruins and Bruins are scheduled to go to Booker T. Washington. The season has about five or six weeks remaining until the postseason begins later in May.
