Tabor College Sweeps OKWU

Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles and Lady Eagles concluded their regular season Saturday evening at Hillsboro, Kansas taking on Tabor College.  Lady Eagles fall 68-41 while the Eagles lost 94-67.

Lady Eagles trailed 31-27 at halftime and only scored 14 points in the second half.  Tabor's defense gave OKWU fits all evening as they were outscored 37-14 in the second half.  Lady Eagles shot 30 percent from the field and were 1-16 from the 3-point line.  Kayla Morgan and Sara Short led OKWU with nine points a piece.  Shelbie Kirby, who averages 16 points a game, finished with only six points.  Lady Eagles fall to 14-16 overall and 10-12 in KCAC play.  OKWU will go to Wichita, Kansas Thursday evening at 7 o'clock to take on Friends University in the first round of the KCAC Tournament.

Things didn't go well for the mens game for OKWU as they never led in the game.  Bluejays led 46-27 at halftime and outscored the Eagles 48-40 in the second half to claim the KCAC regular season championship.  Eagles were out rebounded 54-44 and shot just 36 percent from the field.  Breiman Alexander led OKWU with 19 points.  Eagles fall to 13-16 overall and 10-12 in the KCAC.  Both the Eagles and the Bluejays will face each other on Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock in the first round of the KCAC Tournament.  The game will be at Hillsboro, Kansas.
