Sport Talks New Bruin DC
Bartlesville High football’s defense may look a little bit different in 2019 after the hiring of the Bruins new defensive coordinator, Tanner Koons.
Bruin head football coach Jason Sport announced the hiring of Koons earlier this week. Koons was the defensive coordinator at Perry this past season. Sport said he tried to hire Koons before the 2018 season, but he had already committed to take the Perry job. Sport says he then kept an eye on him all of last season.
Koons was also the strength and conditioning coordinator at Perry.
Bartlesville will have the vast majority of its staff returning from 2018, with only one more hire left to go before spring. The Bruins are continuing to search for an offensive line coach.
Because of the turnover at head coaching spot the past three seasons, Sport says continuity throughout the rest of staff is important heading into 2019.
