Speaking engagements continue for Bartlesville High football coaches, as the Bruins are eyeing their first scrimmage of the season on Thursday.

On Tuesday, BHS defensive coordinator Jason Sport will be the featured speaker at the Bartlesville Adult Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Luncheon.

Sport left Jenks to come head the Bruin defense under first-year head coach Lee Blankenship. That luncheon will be at noon at Sterling’s Grille.

Bartlesville will finally get some padded action against another team on Thursday, as the Bruins take on Coweta as a part of the Broken Arrow Kickoff Bash at 6:00 PM.

A week from Thursday BHS will take on Tulsa Edison at Custer Stadium for scrimmage number two at home on Aug. 23

Don’t forget that our annual KWON’s Coach’s Breakfast Broadcast is coming up on Saturday at 7:00 AM from the Heritage Theatre Cafe and Pub in downtown Dewey.

We will have all the area high school coaches on hand to talk about the upcoming season.

Our first high school broadcasts will begin a week from Friday (Aug. 24) with Pawhuska hosting Kellyville on 99.1 FM – KPGM. Dewey on the road at Adair on KRIG 104.9 and Owasso at home against Bentonville, Arkansas on 100.1 – KYFM.
