Senior Spotlight - BHS Girls Soccer

Many high school seniors had their spring-sports careers cut short because of the cancellation of athletics, and we will focus on a handful of those over the next days and weeks on BartlesvilleRadio.com.

One of the seasons getting cut short that is hardest to stomach is Bartlesville girls’ soccer.

The Lady Bruins were senior laden, with 10 girls who were in their final season in the program. That is a handful more than the usual seven or so seniors Bartlesville has on its roster.

BHS had started out 2020 undefeated at 6-0. The Lady Bruins had tallied wins against Sand Springs and Bentonville, Arkansas and won the Edison Tournament.

Head coach Aaron Kuntz says he will look back on this spring and wonder what might have been.

The 10 seniors that will graduate in May are Brilee Taylor, Gracie LeMaster, Taylor Mashburn, Darbie Cummings, Hannah Sparks, Briley-Anne Brown, Abril Aranda - and Captains Aubrey Boswell, Regan Klose and Isabel Zielenski.

Although they will not be able to finish their season, Kuntz says he would like to honor the seniors in some way down the line.

Kuntz says that he is playing the waiting game just like everyone else, but looks forward to getting back on the field to work over the summer if possible.
