It will be a tough double-header for both BHS basketball teams on Tuesday at Bruin Fieldhouse.

Bartlesville High is at home against Sand Springs.

The two Sandite teams may be the best boys and girls duo in the state. The Sand Springs girls are ranked at No. 6 in Class 6A. They topped Bartlesville 66-48 during the team’s first matchup on Dec. 11. the BHS girls went on to win 12 of their last 13 since that loss.

Down the stretch run of the season, head coach of the Lady Bruins, Donnie Martin, wants his girls to work on toughness.

The ladies matchup will again be a top-10 battle. The Bartlesville girls dropped to No. 8 in the state after a loss to Union last week, but it does appear that BHS is in line to host a regional when the pairings are released on Thursday.

For the Bruin guys, it has been close but no cigar against some of the top teams in the state. BHS will get another shot against the No. 5 Sandite guys at home. Bartlesville lost to Sand Springs on the road 64-42 after a long scoring drought in the second quarter dug the Bruins a hole.

Tip off for the ladies at 6:30, with the boys to follow around 8:00 on KWON – AM 1400 and FM 93.3.
